# Getting Started with Your Tenant

You just got the approval email and opened your tenant dashboard for the first time. This page shows the minimum you need for your first event and what you can pick up later.

## What You Need for Your First Event

Three things matter immediately:

* Your classroom name (already created)
* Your game link to share with participants (in the email and dashboard)
* The event date you scheduled

Adding more games, customizing appearance, managing users, and viewing analytics can all wait until after your first event. Plenty of hosts run multiple events using a small fraction of the tenant features.

## Accessing Your Tenant Dashboard

Your approval email has a direct link. Bookmark it. The URL looks like:

```
https://kc7cyber.com/dashboard/[your-tenant-name]
```

You can also reach it from [kc7cyber.com](https://kc7cyber.com) by logging in and clicking your tenant name in the navigation.

{% hint style="success" %}
Bookmark your tenant dashboard now. You'll come back every time you run an event.
{% endhint %}

## Dashboard Layout

The dashboard breaks down into three views.

**Main navigation.** Home (overview of classrooms), Classrooms (your organizational groups), Users (co-hosts and participants), Settings (tenant-wide config).

**Classroom view.** Class Details (name, description, appearance), View Modules (your games, where you add new ones), Students (enrolled in this classroom), Analytics (performance data).

**Game/Module view.** Game Link (share with participants), Settings (game-specific config), Analytics (this game's performance), Students (who's enrolled).

You'll pick up the layout naturally as you use the features.

## What's Already Set Up

When your event was approved, we created:

* ✅ Your first classroom, named from your event request
* ✅ Your first game ("A Scandal in Valdoria"), pre-loaded
* ✅ The game link, ready to share (in your approval email)
* ✅ Your account, set as Tenant Manager with full permissions
* ✅ STARTER tier capacity: <code class="expression">space.vars.starter\_tier\_summary</code>. Enough for multiple events.

{% hint style="success" %}
STARTER tier covers most early use. If you need more (PROFESSIONAL: 50/100/500 or ENTERPRISE: unlimited), email <code class="expression">space.vars.support\_email</code> to upgrade. Fee waivers are available for organizations aligned with KC7's philanthropic mission.
{% endhint %}

For your first event, all you have to do is share the game link from your approval email, run the event, and come back to view results afterward.

## Your First Time: Essential Tasks Only

### Before Your Event

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Find Your Game Link

1. Log into your tenant dashboard
2. Navigate to your classroom
3. Click on "View Modules" tab
4. Find "A Scandal in Valdoria"
5. Copy the game link (or use the one from your approval email)
   {% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Test the Link

* Open it in an incognito window
* Make sure it loads the game interface
* Verify participants can create accounts
  {% endstep %}
  {% endstepper %}

That's all the pre-event setup you need.

### After Your Event

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### View Results

1. Return to your tenant dashboard
2. Go to your classroom → View Modules
3. Click on your game
4. Navigate to "Analytics" tab
5. See participant performance, completion rates, and question difficulty
   {% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Export Data (Optional)

* Analytics tab has export options
* Download CSV for your records
* Share with stakeholders if needed
  {% endstep %}
  {% endstepper %}

### Adding Your Next Event (When Ready)

In your classroom, click **View Modules → Create Game**, name it (e.g., "March Event - Valdoria"), pick a module, and click create. Copy the new join link and share it. See [Managing Games](/using-the-tenant-system/managing-games.md) for the full walkthrough.

## Customizing Your Classroom (Optional)

When you're ready to personalize, you can change classroom appearance.

### Adding Classrooms

Click **"Add Classroom"** on the tenant dashboard. Give it a descriptive name and short description.

Open the **"Class Details"** tab to upload a thumbnail, add a banner image, and pick a color theme. Worth doing if branding matters for corporate training, educational programs, or telling multiple classrooms apart at a glance. Skip it if it doesn't, plain works fine.

## Common Questions

<details>

<summary>Do I need to do anything in the dashboard before my first event?</summary>

No. Your game is already set up. Share the game link from your approval email and run your event. Explore the dashboard afterward.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Where do I find my game link?</summary>

In your approval email, or navigate to Dashboard → Your Classroom → View Modules → Your Game → Copy link.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I add participants to my classroom before the event?</summary>

You can, but you don't have to. Participants create accounts when they first hit the game link. Pre-adding is useful when you want to track specific users or require approval.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What happens if I accidentally delete something?</summary>

Games and classrooms can be deleted, but participant data is preserved. Email <support@kc7cyber.com> if you need to restore something.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Do I need a new classroom for each event?</summary>

No. One classroom holds multiple games. Create new classrooms only when you want to separate distinct groups (e.g., "Beginners" vs "Advanced" or "Fall 2024" vs "Spring 2025").

</details>

<details>

<summary>How do I give someone else access to help manage?</summary>

Go to Users tab → Invite user → Choose permission level. Tenant Manager for full access, Classroom Manager for limited access.

</details>

## Next Steps Based on Your Goals

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Just Running One Event" %}
You have what you need. Game link, dashboard access. Come back after the event to view analytics, export results, and decide if you want to run another.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Running Multiple Events" %}
Pick up adding games, game settings (difficulty, time limits, hints), and inviting co-hosts. Roughly 30 minutes to learn.

* [Game Settings](/using-the-tenant-system/managing-games/game-settings.md)
* [Managing Users](/using-the-tenant-system/managing-users.md)
  {% endtab %}

{% tab title="Building a Program" %}
Worth digging into classroom organization, user roles, analytics across events, and the full set of game settings. A few hours over several events.
