To be a good KC7 Cyber Competition host, you don’t need to be a cyber expert. But you, or someone helping you run the event, should be familiar with the exercises in the selected module.
The best way to get prepared to host a KC7 Cyber Competition is to play through the Competition yourself! Getting started is easy:
We recommend going through the "Scandal in Valdoria" Module:
This page will prompt you to register an account on KC7 , if you don’t already have one.
As you play, consider these tips:
Pay special attention to any queries that you found challenging or especially useful, as there’s a good chance your event participants may have the same issues.
Try answering all the questions, noting extra hard questions that participants may also get stuck on.
Think of “a-ha” moments you experienced while playing the game. Jot those down so you can share them with participants.
KC7 is mostly a self-guided exercise for participants, but you and your volunteers will need to help participants whenever they get stuck, especially at the very beginning. It’s a good idea for your volunteers to also prepare in advance by completing the selected module before the day of your KC7 Cyber Competition.
